He died on the 6th of August year 1660 and was buried in a church that was later destroyed so the remains of the master painter remain lost forever. His friend Fuensalida who was keeper of the royal records shed light to many of his works which she documented and kept safe till they were needed and upon the death of King Philip in 1666 that they were made public and the details of such made available for all to see.
